Health Alert From Kenedy ISD

Kenedy ISD wants to keep parents informed when it comes to the health of our students, faculty, and community members.  Please be advised that there have been multiple cases of the flu throughout the district.

If your child exhibits flu like symptoms such as, fever > 100, cough, sore throat, headache, body aches, chills, vomiting, and diarrhea, make sure they stay at home and contact your local physician.  Most people who get the flu will recover without complications within a few weeks.

The key to prevention is utilizing good hand washing, hygiene, and covering of the nose and mouth during a cough or sneeze.

Please be advised that the school is monitoring the situation and staying in contact with the Department of State Health Services.  We are taking steps at the school to take a preventative approach.  The school will keep parents informed of any changes or concerns.  Please contact the school if your child has been diagnosed with influenza (Flu) so we can document it.

For more information, you may contact the local Health Department at (830) 780-2303 or your local physician.
