New Teachers Rewards Program at Walmart Helps 10 Teachers at Kenedy Elementary School Offset Rising Expenses for Classroom Supplies.

Teacher Reward Cards were Presented to 10 Teachers During an Award Presentation Ceremony at Kenedy Elementary School on September 23rd, 2009. Walmart is helping 10 KES teachers purchase much-needed classroom supplies through its new Teacher Rewards program. Teachers were selected randomly by the school's principal, Melanie Witte. Each teacher was presented with a $100 Teacher Reward Card at an award ceremony at the school.
Nationally, the Teacher Rewards program will enable Walmart and Sam's Club to provide more than $4 million to 40,000 deserving teachers across the United States.
"Walmart is committed to helping address unmet needs in the communites where we serve," said Pam Dumount, Walmart Representative. "Our support for KES underscores this commitment, and we are hopeful that through the Teachers Reward program, these educators will be able to purchase the materials needed for the new school year."
